Announcements

Volunteers are needed to participate in a PARISH WORK NIGHT at SACRED HEART, which will be held on Aug. 25 beginning at 5:00 PM. Please plan to come and work together with your church family. Many hands make light work!

THE Catholic Globe is conducting its 2008-2009 subscription campaign. It is the policy of Bishop R. Walker Nickless that every household receives a copy of The Catholic Globe, the official newspaper of the Diocese of Sioux City. The newspaper is Bishop Nickless’ primary vehicle of communication with diocesan parishioners. The cost of the subscription is $22. Parishes are billed for subscriptions not paid by parishioners.

Beginning Thursday, September 11, 2008, the Farber & Otteman Funeral Homes will once again sponsor a six-week grief support group meeting series (held each week from 7-9 PM at Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Lake View) for those individuals, couples, or families that have experienced the loss of a loved one or friend through death. The death may be recent or some time in the past. Grief has no specific timetable.
For more information or to register for the group, please contact your pastor or call the
business office at Farber & Otteman Funeral Home at 712-662-7135.

This annual retreat is sponsored by the Diocesan Coalition for Ministry with Persons Having Disabilities. Registration forms and more information are available on the parish bulletin board or by calling Sandi at 712-233-7530. Additionally, volunteers are needed to serve as small group leaders. In the past, high school students and adults have enjoyed volunteering to be small group leaders for the annual retreats for adults with disabilities. It is a meaningful service experience and a great opportunity for service for Confirmation students and sponsors.
Please call to volunteer.
